Who can participate?

Whether you are a student, professional or entrepreneur: everyone is welcomed and can apply. We are looking for creators, innovators, creatives, visionaries, virtual reality and augmented reality specialists, data specialists, gamification specialists, start-ups, VSE / SMEs or enlightened fans.

 

Can I apply with my own team?

Yes, it is possible. The participation form allows you to mention that you already have a team and appoint the members of your team. However, each member of the team must also register individually.

 

When will you make the teams?

After receiving confirmation of your participation, we will invite you to access a matchmaking platform, specific to the event. You will be able to use this tool to communicate with other participants before the event and to find potential partners.
The first day of #hackARENA you will assist to a detailed presentation of all the challenges and then, you will create your team to start the Hackathon.

 

What should I bring?

You must bring your own laptop. If you want to spend the night at the RTL Spiroudome, you must bring a sleeping bag and a sleeping mattress. Everything else, such as food, drinks or support with coaches and experts is provided by #hackARENA.

 

Where and when will #hackARENA take place?

#hackARENA will take place from Saturday 3rd November at 9:00 to Sunday 4th November at 18:00 at the RTL Spiroudome – Rue Olympiades 2 at 6000 Charleroi (Belgium).
In particular, you will attend Friday (November 2 at 20:30) to a basketball game which takes place for the Euromillions League. The local team “Spirou Charleroi” will confront the Kangoeroes from Mechelen.

 

Is the #hackARENA free?

A deposit of 20 euros will be required upon registration and will be returned by your attendance at the #hackARENA. All expenses related to food, drinks, access to the Euromillions League basketball game, accommodation at the RTL Spiroudome will be offered by #hackARENA.

 

What are the Awards and Rewards?

Each participant will be able to win tickets to attend a game of the Spirou Charleroi. Other prizes will be offered thanks to our partners and sponsors. All ideas and prototypes that you transmit are open-source, which is a common approach in hackathons. You and your team members can continue to develop your ideas. Of course, the source code or specific IP that you developed before the hackathon remains yours.

 

What are the goals of #hackARENA ?

Reinventing the « Fan Experience » by providing innovative concepts and experiences.
How? By innovative, interactive and immersive new contents and services.
